Ms. Leonard

                           Ms. Tanja Leonard

I am very excited to be teaching third grade for my third year at Willow Creek Elementary School. The staff, parents, and children are wonderful to work with and I am thrilled and feel very lucky to be here.  I am sure we will have a fantastic school year together.  I started my teaching career in Schaumburg School District as an ESL/Interventionist Teacher in August of 2011. In my spare time I enjoy, reading, working out, dancing, exploring new bike trails, and spending time with my family and friends. I am also a big Bulls fan... GO BULLS! I am a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, where I received a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and ESL endorsement. Also, I completed the Gifted Education Seminar to be obtain this certificate.

I want to thank you for sharing your child with me this year.  I love spending every day with my students. There is so much to learn and discover.  My classroom promotes independent and cooperative learning in an organized environment, where positive learning takes place. The welfare of my students is my number one priority. My goal is to prepare your child with the skills he/she will need both in and out of the classroom. I will encourage your child to take risks and to always give their personal best. I work hard to build a sense of community among my students, and I emphasize the idea of teamwork. I value cooperation and collaboration both in my classroom. I believe that great things can happen when we work together! By working together this year, we can make this a successful learning experience for your child.
